While the boy shied away from the camera, his teary-eyed mother says, “I never expected that people like us were also provided a space in the newspaper. I cannot be more thankful to you for the joy you have brought to my son.”

Rohan Rawat’s picture published in the national newspaper Kantipur’s supplement Kopila on his birthday. After he saw his picture, for the rest of the day, he told his family, relatives and neighbours that he got a prize for his birthday. While the boy shied away from the camera, his teary-eyed mother says, “I never expected that people like us were also provided a space in the newspaper. I cannot be more thankful to you for the joy you have brought to my son.”

Following the success of this story, INCLUDED Nepal intends to publish more pictures of children and also, if possible, their creative work in the papers as part of its program whose fundamental goal is to establish the fact that “Migrants are also a part of the city”. This accomplishment, though relatively small, is a matter of pride for both INCLUDED and the Rawat family.
