Programs attract support from local community

Our center has a particularly close relationship with members of the local community, and this week we saw just how excited they are to participate. One of the students' grandmothers has offered to make baozi (steamed stuffed buns) for the kids each week as a treat. We approached her with the concern that it was a huge investment of time and energy and that she didn't have to do it, but she simply winked and feigning mock hurt, replied, "What's wrong? You don't like my baozi?" She explained that she was determined to help and loved to feel like she had an avenue to help the community.

What a cool grandmother.
