6 ECD facilitators and 4 Center staffs of our 2 Community Centers successfully completed their 15 days long ''Basic Training on Pre-Primary Education''. They are now equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitude to run govt. pre-primary education in our centers where they will be teaching 180 children. On the completion and certificate giving ceremony the Bangladesh Country Director, Mr. Mukut Ashfaque was present along with the two trainers.
The children of our Pallabi Community Center greeted INCLUDED Country Office staffs with this lovely and wonderful card (hand made and drawn by them) on the eve of biggest festival of Bangladesh - Eid ul Fitr. EID Mubarak to all of you!
The half-yearly combined monthly meeting of INCLUDED and PNGO's center staffs was held on 19th July at INCLUDED Bangladesh Office. The Executive Director of the ECB Mr. Arif Sikder was the special guest of this event while Mukut Ashfaque, Bangladesh Country Director, INCLUDED presided over the meeting. The meeting was followed by Iftar (meal to break of fasting).
In order to build up awareness and ensure participation in the program, a parents gathering has been arranged on June 19, 2014 at Agargaon Community Center. Some 45 parents attended the gathering and a student of Dhaka University IER department, Mrs Rafia Nusrat was present as guest.
Very first creation of the ASP students of the Pallabi Community Center! They made a beautiful wall magazine by themselves with their own writings and drawings. The Pallabi center staffs are doing great job in upbringing the talents of the students.
We organised an ''Induction for the Community Center Staffs'' on 22nd March. All staffs working in the two community centers participated along with the two EDs of our two partner organisations. It was a great event for ice melting and getting each other closer. It was a nice opportunity for us to introduce INCLUDED to them.
Today, our Agargaon Center was visited by Mr. Iftekhar Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary to the govt. of Bangladesh, Ex DG, NGO Affairs Bureau. He was impressed with our ECD program. He was very pleased to know that we are implementing govt. education in our ECD program and providing dignified services to the slum children.
For the very first time, we have been able to broker services for the migrant communities. The Department of Primary Education, Ministry of Mass and Primary Education has provided us with Teaching - Learning materials for one-year long Pre-Primary education for our 2 community centers. This materials will be used in our ECD program. Earlier 2 trainers from the same Department provided training to the ECD Facilitators. The District Primary Education Office, Dhaka will also do monitoring and provide supports to our programs regularly. We have already applied with the DPE for signing MOU with us. It is in the process!
Ms. Nasrin Akther Sumi, one of the volunteer teachers of our ASP program being implemented in the Agargaon Community Center distributed some educational materials among the disadvantaged slum children who got better marks in the monthly evaluation. Superb Volunteerism!
A drawing competition was organized in the Agargaon Community Center with the support of the agargaon migrant community and the center team at 3.00 pm on August 14, 2014 as a part of observing National Mourning Day (15th August) and the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Today, the 2 days long orientation on the recently developed Parenting Module has ended. The module, especially customised for the migrant slums people was developed by a renowned expert in the NGO arena.
