A drawing competition was organized in the Agargaon Community Center with the support of the agargaon migrant community and the center team at 3.00 pm on August 14, 2014 as a part of observing National Mourning Day (15th August) and the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Very first creation of the ASP students of the Pallabi Community Center! They made a beautiful wall magazine by themselves with their own writings and drawings. The Pallabi center staffs are doing great job in upbringing the talents of the students.
In order to build up awareness and ensure participation in the program, a parents gathering has been arranged on June 19, 2014 at Agargaon Community Center. Some 45 parents attended the gathering and a student of Dhaka University IER department, Mrs Rafia Nusrat was present as guest.
6 ECD facilitators and 4 Center staffs of our 2 Community Centers successfully completed their 15 days long ''Basic Training on Pre-Primary Education''. They are now equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitude to run govt. pre-primary education in our centers where they will be teaching 180 children. On the completion and certificate giving ceremony the Bangladesh Country Director, Mr. Mukut Ashfaque was present along with the two trainers.
We organised an ''Induction for the Community Center Staffs'' on 22nd March. All staffs working in the two community centers participated along with the two EDs of our two partner organisations. It was a great event for ice melting and getting each other closer. It was a nice opportunity for us to introduce INCLUDED to them.
Our center team of the Agargaon Community Center extended their support beyond their regular responsibilities to the community they serve. They helped the parents to get birth registration certificates for their children. Salute to the Agargaon Center Team!
Ms. Nasrin Akther Sumi, one of the volunteer teachers of our ASP program being implemented in the Agargaon Community Center distributed some educational materials among the disadvantaged slum children who got better marks in the monthly evaluation. Superb Volunteerism!
Rita Chen, Director, INCLUDED and Jonathan Hursh, Executive Director and Founder recently visited Dhaka from 10 November to 15 November. They came here to attend INCLUDED's Annual Board Meeting. They were in the INCLUDED Bangladesh Office to inspire us.
Today, our Agargaon Center was visited by Mr. Iftekhar Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary to the govt. of Bangladesh, Ex DG, NGO Affairs Bureau. He was impressed with our ECD program. He was very pleased to know that we are implementing govt. education in our ECD program and providing dignified services to the slum children.
Our After School Program (ASP) has various activities, library hours is one them. Students can access the center library and enjoy reading books. They can also watch different video programs on the TV there. The younger children are helped the by the volunteer teachers during this library hour.
